This is How Movies Should Be Made
Strictly average movie
Charming and brutal
It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
View More22 minutes until the title! Genesis refers to the less shaky filming style, nice look and amazing sound, chainsaw bride, emotional ending. Generic zombie film, 5 of these films and only Quarantine (2008) is worth watching, preposterous in places, stupid religious angle, not funny or scary.
View MoreREC 3: Genesis follows its own cast of characters in a removed setting from REC and REC 2. I thought the premise was intriguing: the virus spreading at a wedding. And despite my want - my need - to uncover what happened to Angela, I watched REC 3.And it shocked me in the same way REC and REC 2 did.Despite the brighter lighting as oppose to the darker variety from the first two . . . despite the switch from shaky-camera, found footage to traditional camera-work . . . it still contained that isolating, claustrophobic feeling.I enjoyed the action-packed, fast-paced, extremely-bloody-and-gory scenes. I looked forward to the scene as displayed on the poster, when Clara poses in the tunnels, carrying a chainsaw, looking completely bad-ass. By the time I reached the end . . . well, I felt heartbroken. (You will see why when you watch it!)
View MoreFirst of all let me tell you that I get that some people don't like this one and that they are disappointed about the third movie in the "Rec" series. I totally get it in case you were expecting a same kind of movie as the first two. I also thought the first two were way better. Nevertheless I am still rating the third one as a good movie. Totally different maybe, but still an entertaining zombie movie with some great slashing moments. And that's what it is all about when I am watching an zombie/horror movie. Compared to other movies in this genre this one certainly stands out. Okay the story might be a bit lame but are most of the zombie movies not like that? And all the actors were good also, so I can't subtract any points for bad acting. I think it deserves more points for a movie in his genre. But again I get it if you were expecting a continuing story after Rec 1 and Rec 2 then you're going to be disappointed...
View MoreI cannot understand the reviews above. Rec3Genesis appeared on Film 4 here and i simply bust a gut laughing all through which was the idea. I've seen the films of Iglesias and this in the same frantic mold! I wont go into details but i simply love it!!! For me it was perfect! Funniest parody of all the zombie movies I've ever seen. Not Rodriguez, Tarantino could come close to this! The one scene where the priest has taken over the broadcast system And is reciting Genesis which stops the mad zombies in their tracks while our heroes the happy couple escape but are wasted by his Grandfather also a zombie who being deaf and having lost the batteries of his hearing aid could not hear the sermon and so his blood lust raged on unabated!! Fabuloso, loads of tongues being bitten out, extreme blood letting super fun! First time iv'e seen Plazas work (i'd rather call it extreme play!) So...I guess i will have to find the first two of the Rec series? Oh, gimme me more of these please!
